Another US brand to report on.

American Eagle Outfitters is an American retailer that offers high-quality, on-trend clothing, accessories and personal care products. The brands main consumer profile varies from 15 – 25 year old men and women/boys and girls with a catchy and interesting slogan, ‘live your life.’ This is a big part of American Eagles identity which sells products as a lifestyle those teenagers and young adults grow into throughout life. They currently split their products into sub-brands such as 77Kids (line of clothing aimed at children from 0months to 14years), Martin and Osa (selling lifestyle products to adults aged 28-40) and finally Aerie (aiming their products at 15-21 year old women). These sub brands have enabled AE to show their large range of products and how they diversify their well known graphic tee shirts, hoodies, polo shirts and low rise jeans to all ages and styles. Currently American Eagle have very high profile competitors such as Abercrombie and Fitch and Hollister which is why they need to keep re-working their brand and introduce with new and innovative ways to sell their products against these very popular and accepted competitors.
American Eagle is a very strong American brand. The label is able to portray the cool, quirky and exciting American lifestyle that many young adults and teenages dream and aspire to become. Some of their clothing is quite basic and functional but yet the styles of the graphic tees and shirts illustrates the preppy/surfer style that brands such as AE, Abercrombie and Fitch, and Hollister want their consumers to buy into and become a lifestyle of.
